This is a track from my days in a controversial “punk rock” group. The song “Shuckin’ and Jivin’” a cover of an obscure Seeds song, so obscure, no original members of the Seeds played on the original version of it. The song is from the cd version of “the Legendary Brown Album”, now long out of print. Featuring the Reverend Toad-Eater on guitars, bass and vocals, Bamboo on drums, yours truly on the main vocal abuse. Additional possible guitarness from M.T. Lubotamy and/or Slick Bardahl.
This is a track from the last Mystery Band cd “Wood”, “Black and Blue” a song dating back to about 1924 (from the musical “Hot Chocolates”), penned by the great Thomas “Fats” Waller (with Razaf & Brooks). Album is available from Poo-Bah Records (www.poobah.com). It features the wonderful Craig Doerge on piano, Larry Easter on clarinet, David O’Stone on trombone, Richard Snyder on bass, Gary Riley on banjo & marxophone, Pierre Dupuy on percussion.
